How to actually pass it

Preparation strategy
  • Build hands-on labs with Packet Tracer or GNS3
  • Master subnetting until it is automatic
  • Practice OSPF, ACLs, and VLAN configurations daily
  • Use Boson ExSim or similar for realistic question pools
  • Watch CBT Nuggets, Jeremy IT Lab, or Cisco Learning Network videos
  • Schedule practice exams once a week in the final month
Exam day
  • Watch for negatives in question stems (NOT, EXCEPT)
  • On simulation labs, save your work as you go
  • Eliminate clearly wrong answers before deciding
  • Do not skip simulation questions, you cannot return to them
  • Pace yourself, about 1 minute per multiple choice question
  • Stay calm if a sim feels unfamiliar, the fundamentals still apply
